Celebrity entrepreneur and nightlife promoter Cubana Chief Priest has fired back at Cosmas Maduka, Chairman of the Coscharis Group, after the billionaire businessman publicly criticized the now-popular phrase “Money na Water.”
In a sharp rebuttal posted via Instagram, Chief Priest defended the saying, which has become a viral anthem among Nigerian youth and entertainers.
According to him, the phrase reflects modern realities, not recklessness.
“In this digital age, visibility is currency. What you don’t show doesn’t sell,” he wrote.
“Stop Using Us to Trend” – Chief Priest Blasts Maduka
Chief Priest accused Maduka of using entertainers for publicity without offering them tangible support.
“Don’t use us to trend,” he said. “You come online to criticize our hustle but have never supported or invested in what we do.”

He alleged that Maduka’s generation built wealth through factories and traditional industries, but failed to adapt to today’s content-driven economy.
“Our generation is building platforms, creating attention, and leveraging reach. Your era ignored our type of hustle — now you don’t get to talk down on it,” he added.
Wealth, Visibility & Legacy
Cubana Chief Priest pointed to successful business figures like Tony Elumelu and Femi Otedola, who he says understand the value of visibility in business and culture. He suggested Maduka remove himself from their ranks if he doesn’t believe in empowering younger creatives.
He went further to hint at the release of a new anthem this Friday at midnight, possibly tied to the “Money na Water” movement, which he called a symbol of financial fluidity, opportunity, and empowerment.
