During a recent visit to Gombe State, Nigeria’s First Lady, Remi Tinubu, appealed to Nigerians to stop speaking negatively about their country. She emphasized the need for citizens to take pride in Nigeria’s progress and natural beauty rather than focusing on its challenges.
Speaking at the Emir of Akko’s palace, Remi Tinubu stated that the era when Nigeria was labeled as the “most corrupt country” is over.
She urged Nigerians to change the narrative and highlighted that international perceptions of Nigeria are improving.
The First Lady also praised the scenic beauty of Gombe State, likening its landscapes to the famous countryside in England.
She encouraged Nigerians to appreciate the country’s diverse natural attractions and the abundant opportunities available.
Remi Tinubu’s remarks come amid growing concerns about negative portrayals of Nigeria, both within the country and abroad.
She called on citizens, especially those in the diaspora, to be ambassadors of a positive image for Nigeria.
