How to Apply for INEC Ad-Hoc Staff Jobs: Eligibility, Procedures, Contacts

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened applications for its 2025/2026 ad-hoc staff recruitment, announcing roles such as Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), Registration Area Center (RAC) Managers, and Registration Area Technical Support (RATECHs).

The electoral body says the roles are vital for ensuring credible elections across Nigeria.

Eligibility Requirements

* SPOs: Must be permanent staff of the Federal Public or Civil Service within Grade Levels 10 to 14.
* POs & APOs: Eligible applicants include serving NYSC corps members, NYSC alumni (no more than four years post-service), INEC staff, or penultimate students of federal tertiary institutions.
* RAC Managers: Position reserved for heads of institutions hosting RACs or suitable staff at Grade Level 7 and above.
* RATECHs: Must be qualified INEC ICT staff.

Additional general requirements: applicants must not be members of any political party, nor have publicly expressed support for any candidate or party.

Also, applicants must reside in the state in which they apply (except for RATECHs, who are INEC staff).

How to Apply

* The application is strictly online via the official INEC registration portal: pres.inecnigeria.org.
* Mobile users can apply using presmobile.inecnigeria.org.
* INEC has provided help desk contacts for assistance: Adeaze (09127675926), Bolaji (08059653879), and Rukayat (08039301522).

Why This Matters

INEC emphasized that engaging qualified ad-hoc staff is central to its mandate of conducting credible elections. These positions often involve frontline election duties, including overseeing polling units, ensuring processes are followed, and technical support.

Filling them with eligible, non-partisan individuals is expected to boost public confidence in upcoming elections.
