The Kano State Government has officially declared Friday, September 12, 2025, as a public holiday to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This announcement aligns with the Islamic calendar date of 19th Rabi’ul Awwal 1447 AH.

In a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the government urged residents to observe the day peacefully, reflecting on the Prophet’s teachings of unity, tolerance, and respect for lawful authority.

The statement also encouraged citizens to offer special prayers for peace, prosperity, and the overall progress of Kano State and Nigeria at large.
