The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has responded to ongoing criticism of his administration, stating that even those who oppose him continue to benefit from the infrastructure and services his government delivers.

Speaking during an official engagement in Abuja, Wike remarked that individuals who “hate” him are still using public utilities—such as roads, electricity, and water—provided under his leadership.

“Even those who hate me are using the road I built, enjoying the light I restored, and drinking the water I made available,” he said.

Wike’s comments come amid renewed scrutiny from opposition voices and sections of the public, some of whom have questioned his leadership style and policy focus since assuming office as FCT Minister.

He maintained that his primary concern is service delivery, not public approval, and noted that his administration remains committed to improving infrastructure across the capital territory.

The former Rivers State Governor also added that development projects would continue regardless of criticism, emphasizing that governance should be measured by results rather than sentiments.

Wike has faced a mix of praise and criticism during his tenure in the FCT. While some commend his swift infrastructure push, others have raised concerns about transparency, public engagement, and inclusiveness in policy implementation.
