Nollywood veteran and politician, Kenneth Okonkwo, has openly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing it as “sickening” amid escalating insecurity across Nigeria.

Okonkwo, who is affiliated with the African Action Congress (ADC) coalition, made the remarks in a post on 𝕏 on Wednesday, pointing to the growing wave of abductions and violent attacks in states including Kebbi, Niger, and Kwara.

According to the actor-politician, the government has effectively “surrendered” the nation to terrorists and bandits, abandoning its primary responsibility to protect citizens.

He further alleged that, instead of taking decisive action, the administration has resorted to negotiating with criminal elements to secure the release of kidnapped victims.

Okonkwo expressed strong disapproval of Tinubu’s handling of national security, asserting that the government has forfeited its legitimacy to remain in power. He urged Nigerians to pray for the nation’s survival until the 2027 elections, when citizens will have the opportunity to remove the current administration.

In his post, Okonkwo stated: “The regime of @officialABAT is becoming sickening. It has practically surrendered Nigeria to terrorists and bandits. It has resorted to negotiating with outlaws to release victims. Having failed in its primary duty to secure the people, this government has lost every right to remain in power. Nigerians should even pray for the country to survive till 2027 when they have the opportunity to vote Tinubu out.”

His comments add to the growing chorus of public concern over security challenges in Nigeria, highlighting the pressure on the government to restore safety and stability across the country.
