A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced plans to hold its national convention on March 28 and 29, 2026, in Abuja, as part of efforts to elect a new National Working Committee (NWC) and other statutory organs of the party.
The decision was disclosed in a communiqué issued after the 105th meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), which held on Monday in the nation’s capital.
According to the communiqué, the NEC approved and confirmed the convention dates, noting that the exercise will focus on constituting key leadership structures within the party.
“NEC further approved and confirmed March 28 and 29, 2026, as the date for the PDP National Convention, to be held in Abuja for the purpose of electing members of the National Working Committee and other statutory organs of the party,” the communiqué stated.
The document was jointly signed by Abdulrahman Muhammed, National Chairman of the National Caretaker Working Committee, and Samuel Anyanwu, the party’s National Secretary.
More details are expected as preparations for the convention gather momentum.
