Nigerian music sensation, Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has reacted with excitement to his first-ever Grammy nomination, sharing heartfelt thoughts about the recognition and his friendship with fellow nominee Davido.

The “Holy Ghost” crooner was nominated alongside Davido in the Best African Music Performance category for their collaborative track, “With You,” ahead of the 68th Grammy Awards.

Taking to Instagram, Omah Lay expressed gratitude for the honor but made it clear that he’s not overly concerned about winning awards.

Instead, he expressed a strong desire to see Davido — whom he described as a loyal and supportive friend — take home the golden gramophone.

“I’m excited about this Grammy nomination haha but fr fr I don’t give a sh!t about awards. Yeah but I really want it for OBO! He is the realest friend I’ve had in a while; he stood by me during my hardest times,” — Omah Lay wrote on Instagram.

The post has since gone viral, drawing reactions from fans who praised the singer’s humility and genuine appreciation for friendship in an industry often marked by rivalry.

Davido, who has received four previous Grammy nominations, is also in the running for his first win — making this year’s ceremony one of the most anticipated moments in his career.
