As the year winds down and anticipation builds among Nigerian graduates, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially unveiled details for the much-awaited 2025 Batch ‘C’ Orientation Course —an annual rite of passage that marks the beginning of national service for thousands of young Nigerians.
With excitement in the air and travel bags being packed across the country, the NYSC has set Wednesday, November 19, 2025, as the commencement date for the orientation course in all camps nationwide.
According to a statement signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Caroline Embu, the registration exercise for all corps members will run for three days—from Wednesday, November 19, through midnight of Friday, November 21, 2025.
During this period, camps across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will spring to life with thousands of prospective corps members (PCMs) checking in for what many describe as one of the most memorable chapters of their lives.
Swearing-In And Closing Ceremonies Set
The official swearing-in ceremony, a highlight of every orientation camp, will take place on Friday, November 21, 2025, marking the formal induction of PCMs into the NYSC family.
The three-week-long orientation programme will then run its full course, culminating in a closing ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
In her statement, Embu noted that the NYSC remains committed to ensuring a smooth, safe, and memorable experience for all participants.
She added that the Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has extended his best wishes to all prospective corps members as they prepare to journey to their assigned camps across the nation.
“The Director-General wishes all prospective corps members safe travels to their respective orientation camps and advises them to avoid night journeys to ensure their safety,” Embu quoted.
Call-Up Numbers Released
Ahead of the orientation exercise, the NYSC announced that call-up numbers for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) were officially released on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
The scheme made the announcement via its official 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) handle, confirming that the call-up numbers were assigned based on the order of registration.
The release of call-up numbers sparked excitement across social media as thousands of graduates shared their deployment details, counting down the days until camp opens.
Only 40% Mobilised For This Batch
However, in a follow-up clarification, the NYSC disclosed that due to capacity limitations in orientation camps nationwide, only about 40 per cent of registered prospective corps members would be mobilised for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ orientation course.
“Because of capacity limitations across states, only about 40 per cent of registered prospective corps members can be accommodated for the upcoming orientation programme,” the statement explained.
While this development may disappoint some PCMs, the scheme assured that those who could not be mobilised this round will automatically be deferred to the next orientation exercise, encouraging them to remain patient and stay updated through official NYSC communication channels.
Safety And Preparedness Remain A Priority
As excitement peaks ahead of camp opening, the NYSC is also emphasising safety, preparedness, and discipline.
The Director-General, Brig. Gen. Nafiu, reiterated that corps members should avoid travelling at night, make adequate travel arrangements, and remain vigilant while on the road.
He also reminded prospective corps members to come prepared with all necessary documents for registration and to abide by all camp rules and COVID-19 preventive measures that may still be in place.
