Nigerian skit maker and singer, Lawal Michael Nasiru—widely known as Nasboi—has expressed deep concern over the growing controversy surrounding legendary music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia and his strained relationship with Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawuru.

In a heartfelt message shared via Instagram on Tuesday, Nasboi said he has been distressed by circulating videos and reports involving 2Baba, revealing that the developments strike a personal chord because of the immense admiration he has held for the superstar since his teenage years.

According to the entertainer, 2Baba has always represented humility, calmness, and dignity—qualities that shaped his own understanding of grace in the entertainment industry. He noted that the singer has historically avoided public confrontation and drama, choosing instead to protect his family from the spotlight even during turbulent times.

Speaking directly to the music legend, Nasboi pleaded with 2Baba to rise above the unfolding online narrative and reclaim the image that millions of fans grew up respecting.

In his emotional appeal, he wrote: “Dear King 2Face Idibia (2Baba), I feel genuinely heartbroken seeing the embarrassing videos and news about you online. You’ve been my mentor since I was 16. I admired your music, your humility, and the way you carried yourself. You taught me what it means to be humble.”

Nasboi recounted how 2Baba’s calm demeanor and refusal to engage in public conflict set him apart, adding that the current wave of controversies portrays a version of the artist that longtime fans do not recognize.

“Every family has its issues, but you never brought yours outside. The version of events being posted online now is damaging and unfamiliar. It is painful to watch,” he added.

The skit maker urged 2Baba to take back control of the narrative, not just for public perception but for loyal admirers who still see him as a symbol of integrity and composure.

“Please, sir… for those of us who have loved you since we were young… take control of this situation. We still believe in you. We still want to see the 2Baba we grew up respecting.”
