Hon. Aliyu Yakubu Barde, Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, has passed away following a brief illness.
The party chieftain died on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, in Lafia, the state capital. His remains are to be buried in his hometown of Wamba in accordance with Islamic rites.
State Secretary of the APC, Chief Otaru Douglas, confirmed the death, describing Barde’s passing as a significant loss to both the party and Nasarawa State at large.

Prior to his role as Deputy Chairman, Barde served as Interim Management Committee Chairman of Wamba Local Government Area during the administration of former Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
