Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have taken into custody Archbishop Angel Oyeghe, founder of Faith Healing Ministry in Warri, Delta State, over allegations bordering on conspiracy, naira mutilation, and possible money laundering.

According to reports, the cleric was apprehended on Tuesday by officers attached to the Commission’s Benin Zonal Command.

Her arrest followed the circulation of a viral video showing members of her ministry showering naira notes on a live cow during a church event—a practice prohibited by Nigerian law.

The EFCC noted that the incident violates Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007, which criminalizes the mishandling, spraying, and mutilation of the national currency.

The agency confirmed that additional suspects involved in the act are currently being trailed and will be brought in for questioning.
