Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has dismissed claims that he was slapped during a recent outing in Warri, Delta State.
A short video had gone viral on social media showing the singer surrounded by fans and security personnel when a hand appeared to make contact with his head. The footage sparked speculation that he had been slapped by a member of the crowd.
Reacting to the video on Monday through his official X handle, Davido clarified that the incident was a mistake involving his own security aide.
“Mumu that was my security … hit me by mistake … saddist,” the singer wrote, debunking the widespread claims.
The clip, which quickly spread across social platforms, drew several reactions from fans, with some expressing concern over the singer’s safety. Others criticised bloggers for circulating unverified information.
