The Benue State Police Command has refuted claims that a suspected armed robber died in their custody.
In a statement released on Friday, the police clarified that the suspect, arrested in connection with a recent robbery incident, is alive and undergoing investigation.
The clarification comes amid circulating reports suggesting that the suspect succumbed to injuries while in police detention.
The police spokesperson emphasized that such claims are false and aimed at misleading the public.
Authorities have assured that the investigation into the robbery case is ongoing, and the suspect will face legal proceedings in accordance with the law.
