The Akwa Ibom State Government has assured that it will ensure justice in the widely reported case involving Don Davies, an 11-year-old boy allegedly sexually molested in Uyo. Officials confirmed that all individuals indicted in the matter would be prosecuted without interference.

The disturbing case attracted public outrage after Don Davies’ mother raised the alarm about her son’s alleged ordeal in a boarding school. She claimed that the young boy was assaulted and subjected to inhuman treatment, sparking protests from child rights activists and the wider public.

Speaking on the matter, government representatives emphasized that no person, regardless of influence, would be shielded if found culpable. Authorities also encouraged parents and guardians to remain vigilant in the fight against sexual and physical abuse of children.

The case has since opened national conversations on the safety of pupils in boarding facilities and the responsibility of institutions to protect minors under their care.
