Key players including Chiamaka Nnadozie, Michelle Alozie, Osinachi Ohale, and Chinwendu Ihezuo have now joined the team’s Hilton Hotel camp, bringing the number of players in camp to 24.

The latest arrivals are expected to integrate quickly into training sessions as the team steps up its build-up for the crucial fixtures. Earlier, captain Rasheedat Ajibade and 16 other players had already settled in and completed their first training session at the annex of the Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo. The team is also scheduled to train at the main stadium ahead of the matches.

Double-Header Against Cameroon

Nigeria will face the Cameroon women’s national football team in two friendly matches at the Military Stadium in Yaoundé, with the first game set for Saturday and the second scheduled for Tuesday.

The fixtures are part of both teams’ preparations for the 14th edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026, which will take place in Morocco from March 17 to April 3, 2026.

Falcons Eye Title Defence

Nigeria, Africa’s most successful women’s football team with multiple continental titles, will compete in Group C alongside Zambia, Egypt, and tournament debutants Malawi. The Falcons are set to kick off their campaign against Malawi on March 18 in Casablanca.

Cameroon, finalists in 2016, have been drawn in Group D with Ghana, Mali, and Cape Verde, and will open their tournament against Mali in Fes.

More reinforcements are expected, including Mexico-based wing-back Chidinma Okeke and midfielder Halimatu Ayinde, as the coaching crew finalises preparations.

The upcoming friendlies are seen as critical tests for the Super Falcons as they fine-tune tactics and squad cohesion in their quest to retain their continental crown in Morocco.
