Real Madrid Plot Bold €100m Move for Osimhen as Club Seeks True No. 9 to Unleash Mbappé

Real Madrid are reportedly gearing up for a sensational summer push to sign Victor Osimhen, with Spanish outlet Fichajes claiming the club is preparing a €100 million offer for the Galatasaray star.

Sources suggest that Madrid’s interest in the Nigerian striker is tied to a broader tactical plan: freeing Kylian Mbappé from the central striking duties he has been forced to take on since his arrival.

Carlo Ancelotti is said to prefer restoring Mbappé to the left wing—his most devastating position—while deploying Osimhen as the team’s out-and-out No. 9.

According to the report, Madrid view Osimhen as the missing piece in their attack: a ruthless finisher with elite acceleration, relentless pressing, and penalty-box instincts that few strikers in Europe can match.

His physicality, movement, and ability to stretch defensive lines are believed to align perfectly with Madrid’s evolving offensive structure.

Galatasaray, however, are expected to drive a hard bargain. The Turkish champions secured Osimhen last summer for €75 million and are reportedly unwilling to engage in any discussions unless the Spanish giants table a bid that reflects his soaring value. The club sees him as one of their most prized investments and a player central to their current project.

Since his arrival in Istanbul, Osimhen has been nothing short of outstanding. He has quickly imposed himself as Galatasaray’s leading figure—racking up goals, providing key assists, and consistently delivering in high-pressure matches. His combination of work rate, intelligence in buildup play, and clutch performances has made him indispensable in both domestic league battles and European nights.

Whether Galatasaray will entertain Madrid’s approach remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: Osimhen’s red-hot form has put him at the center of the upcoming transfer window.

Ejiofor Unveils Blueprint For Nnamdi Kanu’s Release

Former legal representative to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has urged prominent Igbo leaders to spearhead a strategic, high-level push for the freedom of detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the human rights lawyer stressed that Kanu’s case has reached a point where sentimental debates and scattered advocacy efforts are no longer sufficient.

According to him, what is now required is a carefully coordinated alliance of influential Igbo figures capable of navigating the political and legal complexities surrounding the matter.

Ejiofor described Kanu’s prolonged detention as a challenge that sits at the intersection of politics, diplomacy, public perception, and intricate legal processes.

He argued that only a unified, credible and well-structured intervention—rather than emotional reactions or public grandstanding—can successfully move the case toward a resolution.

He explained that the responsibility should fall on a select group of Igbo leaders whose track records and integrity are beyond dispute. Though he declined to name them, he emphasized that such figures must come from the highest levels of the South-East’s political environment: including state executives, federal appointees of Igbo origin, and respected national personalities with considerable influence in Nigeria’s political space.

Ejiofor added that after this coalition of political heavyweights is established, the next critical phase would be assembling a world-class team of legal experts. This legal group, he said, would take charge of steering the delicate appellate processes and other judicial steps necessary to secure Kanu’s release.

He concluded that the time for fragmented efforts has passed, insisting that only a united, strategic, and influential Igbo-led initiative stands a real chance of achieving the long-awaited breakthrough.
