BBNaija House: Adekunle Reveals Housemates See Each Other Without Clothes

Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate Adekunle has disclosed that the house lacks privacy, with housemates often seeing each other without clothes. He stated that this situation makes it difficult to avoid attraction among housemates.

In a recent conversation, Adekunle remarked, “So, you cannot be in a house with somebody that you see without clothes almost every day and not be attracted to the person. It won’t work.”

According to him, constant physical interaction and the lack of privacy contribute to relationships that sometimes turn romantic or intimate.

He said: “A lot of people who watch Big Brother Naija reality show are very hypocritical. Secondly, there is actually nothing wrong with two people who like each deciding to get intimate.

“All the housemates see each other naked, in case you don’t know. So, you cannot be in a house with somebody that you see without clothes almost everyday and not be attracted to the person. It won’t work.”

Federal Government Orders Suspension of 4% FOB Levy on Imported Goods

The Federal Government has directed the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to suspend the implementation of the 4% Free-on-Board (FOB) levy on imported goods.

This decision follows extensive consultations with industry stakeholders and trade experts, revealing that the levy poses significant challenges to Nigeria’s trade facilitation environment and economic stability.

A memo dated September 15, 2025, and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Special Duties, in the Ministry of Finance, directed the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, to ensure strict compliance with the suspension.

The memo cited concerns from importers and businesses about the increased financial burden the levy imposes, with potential adverse effects on inflation, trade competitiveness, and the overall business climate in Nigeria.

The 4% FOB levy was introduced to replace the previous 1% Comprehensive Import Supervision Scheme (CISS) fee. It was intended to fund Customs’ technological modernization programs.

However, stakeholders, including the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), expressed concerns that the new levy would significantly increase the cost of importing raw materials, machinery, and spare parts that are not available locally.

The suspension of the levy provides an opportunity for comprehensive stakeholder engagement and a thorough review of the levy’s framework and its broader economic implications.

The Ministry of Finance has stated its commitment to working closely with the NCS and all relevant parties to devise a more equitable and efficient revenue structure that supports both revenue generation and economic growth and stability.

ADC Tells Court It Has No Power to Sack Mark-Led Leaders

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has challenged the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court in Abuja to hear a suit seeking to remove its interim leadership led by Senator David Mark.

In a preliminary objection filed on Monday, the ADC, through its counsel Shuaibu Aruwa (SAN), argued that the suit, filed by former Deputy National Chairman Nafiu Bala Gombe, was an abuse of judicial process and that matters concerning the internal affairs of political parties are non-justiciable.

The suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1819/2025, seeks to restrain the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the Mark-led leadership.

Justice Emeka Nwite had earlier ordered the ADC and INEC to appear before the court on September 15 to show cause why the application should not be granted.

At the hearing, only the ADC and INEC were represented. The court observed that the service copy on the court’s file was blank and directed the plaintiff to properly serve all respondents. The case was adjourned to September 30 for further proceedings.

The leadership dispute follows INEC’s recent recognition of the Mark-led National Working Committee, which was established after the party’s founding chairman, Chief Ralph Nwosu, dissolved the existing structures to form a new leadership ahead of the 2027 general election.

Nigeria Celebrates as Amusan Delivers First Medal at 2025 World Athletics Championships

Nigeria’s track sensation, Tobi Amusan, on Monday secured the country’s first medal at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan, after clinching silver in the women’s 100m hurdles final.

Amusan, the 2022 world champion, crossed the finish line in 12.29 seconds, narrowly behind Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, who stunned the field to win gold in a national record of 12.24 seconds. The United States’ Grace Stark claimed bronze with 12.34 seconds, while Nigeria’s Masai Russell finished fourth.

Earlier in the day, Amusan had raised expectations after winning her semifinal heat in 12.36 seconds, setting the stage for a highly anticipated final. Despite her strong start, she was edged out in the last meters by Kambundji’s surge.

The medal not only reaffirms Amusan’s standing among the world’s elite hurdlers but also provides a much-needed morale boost for Team Nigeria, which had been chasing podium finishes in Tokyo.

Governor Bago Mandates Sermon Approval to Check Hate Speech in Niger State

In Minna, the pulpit is now under a new kind of oversight. Governor Umar Bago has announced that religious preachers in Niger State must now submit their sermons for state approval before delivering them to their congregations. What seemed like a normal Sunday announcement has stirred uneasy murmurs among clergy, congregants, and civil rights watchers.

The Niger State Government has introduced a controversial new policy mandating religious preachers to submit their sermons for approval before delivering them to their congregations.

Governor Umar Bago announced the directive while speaking on TVC Politics on Sunday, stressing that the move was aimed at curbing messages capable of inciting unrest or undermining public peace.

Bago explained that the policy was not an attempt to stop evangelism or Islamic preaching but to ensure that sermons align with the state’s security and social stability agenda. “For everyone going to sermon on Friday, he should bring his scriptures for review. Even in Saudi Arabia, this is done,” the governor stated.

According to him, the move is aimed at curbing harmful and inciting messages against the people or the government.

“We cannot say because you have been given the opportunity to be a cleric, you will go out and preach the gospel that is anti-people, anti-government, and you think it’s normal,” he said.

Governor Bago disclosed that security agencies will collaborate with the state government to monitor the content of sermons.

“We want to be able to see what they are preaching, hear what they are saying. We are working together with security agencies; the Department of State Services (DSS), the Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the military,” he added.

Details of the Policy

* All sermons must be submitted to a panel for review before being delivered.
* Within the next two months, preachers will be required to obtain licences before publicly preaching.
* Security agencies, including the DSS, Police, NSCDC and the military, are expected to work with the government to enforce compliance.
* Interested preachers must fill out forms and undergo a screening process before being granted approval.

Reactions

The Chief Imam of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Bashir Yankuzo, cautioned that while government oversight may be necessary to prevent inflammatory preaching, the state must not overstep into restricting freedom of worship.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State said it was yet to receive formal communication about the new directive and would issue a response once officially notified.

However, critics have raised concerns that the policy could be misused to stifle dissenting voices and infringe on constitutional rights to freedom of religion and expression.

What Next?

The state government has yet to release detailed guidelines on how the approval process will be implemented. Stakeholders are now watching closely to see how the policy will be enforced and whether it will trigger legal or religious pushback in the coming weeks.

10 Guinness World Records Held by Nigerians

When people talk about Nigeria, the conversation often drifts to music, Nollywood, politics, or jollof rice wars. But did you know Nigerians are also serial record breakers on the world stage? From cooking marathons that broke the internet to legendary feats in sports, arts, and music, Nigerians have proven that “Naija no dey carry last” is more than just a slogan—it’s a lifestyle.

Indeed, when you hear Guinness World Records, you probably think of someone balancing spoons on their face, eating the most hotdogs in 60 seconds, or maybe a man pulling an airplane with his beard.
